Registration is open at packet pick up and on race day but the fee
is higher. Register now.
Getting to the Race
You cannot take Metro and get to the start of the race on time.
Although Metro opens at 7 a.m., the first train arrives at Shady
Grove, the start of the race, at about 8 a.m.
You should drive to the Shady Grove Metro station, park your car
there and take the train from the White Flint station after the
race.
Wave Start
We will have a wave start. Runners will be separate into pace groups.
The groups will start every one or two minutes depending on the
size of the previous group. The wave start will more runners to
run a good a pace right from the start.
Can you walk?
You must maintain a 14 minute/mile pace. If you are moving slower
than that you will have to use the sidewalk and follow all traffic
rules. We must enforce this rule because we are required to re-open
the road to traffic at a certain point.
Baggage
You will be able to check in your bag with us at the start of the
race. Look for the truck near the start line. We will transport
your bag to the finish where you must pick it up.
Water
We will have water at the start and finish and at least two water
stops on the course.
Medical
There will be medical people roaming the course. Additionally, we
will have a medical tent in the festival area.
Course
The course is easy. You start on Redland Road and run for about
_ mile before turning south onto Rockville Pike/Route 355. You stay
on Rockville Pike until you see the finish line in front of White
Flint Mall.
Getting back to you car
Take the Metro back to your car at Shady Grove Metro station. The
White Flint Metro station is a short walk from the post-race festival.
Family Runs
The one kilometer and toddler runs start at approximately 9:30 a.m.
near Bloomingdale's in the festival area. You could run the 10K
race and then run with your kids.
Refunds
We cannot give refunds.
Timing
We are using the IPICO timing system. You will be given a chip for
your shoe with your packet. Our system does not read the Champion
Chip!Results
Results will be posted on the website, www.pikespeek10k.com
shortly after the race.
